First locate an image somewhere on the net (one that you like and that says something about you).
I went to http://www.gifs.net/animate/giflist.htm where there were lots to choose from.
When you find one you like you right click on the image and choose "properties" then where it says Address:(URL) you highlight the http:// address and do cntrl-C to copy the address to your clipboard.
Then you come back to your hotcopper page and choose the "Account" button at the top left of the page.
Then you look down the page where it says "My Signature" and you paste the URL by doing cntrl-V into that box.
Lastly you preface the URL by typing:
The final product should look like this:

except that there is a < at the start and an > at the end. I couldn't include them in this post as then it will try to find the non-existent image to insert.
