You need to start with a basic strategy that involves spreading risk, protecting capital, risking what you can afford to lose and don't jump into a stock. Do proper in depth research. Treat it as if you were going to buy a house. Proper due diligence. CMY had quite obvious flaws due to past events that were pretty clear throughout. There are plenty more like them on the ASX that you need to be careful of.
