Hi all, this is an old favorite of mine that I sold some while back. I'm itching to get back in but there are a few clouds that keep me nervous -
1. US defense spending only has one way to go.
2. Commercial orders are a disaster in this environment.
Of course I appreciate the the LCS should fare relatively well as a "low" cost ship, and it plays into many areas of increasing need today. The same applies to their patrol boats. But anything related to US defense spending has been de-rated due to these worries, hence the poor performance of ASB. I wish they sould shift their stock boat as well...
That said I think if you look what they already have in the bag over the next 5 years this is a great company with good earnings visibility. The move into SE Asia is also logical. I also think we are in for a period of US$ strength which should favour this stock.
Stock liquidity is a disaster, but we're not too far off trough valuations either.....
