How do you value the price to be 30c and what is "as it" basis. The general rule in share valuation is the P/E ratio. As the company has had losses since operations, applying the P/E ratio will say, stay clear of this share. We have not been given any information to make assessment of the viability of the company. The initial buzz word was vertical integration and this is a sound strategy, however since the last 12 months we have not seen any signs that the Management has progressed forward with a good game plan to generate the benefits of vertical integration.
Coming back to valuation not long after the half year financial statements were made, I did make an assessment of what the share price would be. In the absence of profits and other information, I based my valuation on the net assets of the company divided by the shares, which came out at 15c and about 12c if the intangibles were discounted. Hence what the price now, is in line with my estimation.
I also felt that the financial statements lacked clarity and some of the notes accompanying the statements were not clear and did not explain certain expenses incurred. The auditors did not express an audit opinion in their report as it was the responsibility of the Directors for the preparation in accordance to Australian Accounting Standards to give a fair and true view that is free from material misstatement, whether due to fraud or error. As shareholders have no avenue to make queries to the company we are kept in the dark and this is dangerous as it gives rise to suspicions and speculation on the part of the uninformed shareholders who then believe that Management is incompetent. The Theim Mei venture was released by this company and usually both companies will make simultaneous announcements. Hence why did AHF not make the announcement. Shouldn't the ASX have queried them?
As a consequence, we have to wait now for the next announcement and in the meantime the speculations will run high.
