Any idea which company first initiated the additional level of discount? Was it Australia wide or just in one State? It would be fairly rare to see a pharmacy do a regular monthly buy other than with their main wholesaler. One of the major wholesalers must be chasing some quick additional turnover or inventory reduction. These deals are unlikely to be enough to make any group pharmacy change their preferred supplier so seems a bit pointless to be giving away margin. Was the offer for the full list of items usually included in the monthly parcel?
