Nickel Climbs to 23-Month High as China Reports Faster Growth April 15 (Bloomberg) -- Nickel advanced to the highest level in 23 months, pacing an increase in industrial metals, as China, the worlds largest consumer, reported that economicgrowth in the first quarter accelerated to the fastest pace in almost three years.
The metal for three-month delivery gained as much as 1.1 percent to $26,690 a metric ton, the highest level since May 15, 2008, and traded at $26,647 at 3:05 p.m. Shanghai time. Tin increased as much as 0.8 percent to $18,991 a ton, the highest price since Sept. 18, 2008.
