Exactly. There was that idiot kid in America who was doing nuclear research in his garage using the Americium gleaned from 27 smoke detectors:

And that's with only about a five thousandth of a gram per detector.
Currently (uh-oh, sorry!) Tesla offer a supercharger of 20 minutes for their battery pack - assuming you have the current supply for that. It will never be possible to recharge a car pack from a domestic supply in 2 minutes. There isn't the copper in the ground to do that.
Graphite is already pretty much obsolete as far as research is concerned - graphene, artificially made from NG, in spheres or nanotubes is the current (dammit!!) focus for carbon lithium batteries. And Tesla's 8 year unlimited mileage warranty covers the batteries to retain 90% of their charge after that time, so they are confident of their longevity, even with 20 minute recharges. (p.s. who would want a lambo for twice the price when you get the same performance from a seven seat, four door family car with no servicing costs and no petrol consumption figure?)
