You'd get away with a lot less than that in many situations....

    You'd get away with a lot less than that in many situations. Probably up to 20 houses per AP (access point), depending on the lay of the land.

    But we used fibre in high density flat areas, like a retirement village, because you needed too many APs to cover line of sight unless you had a high point. That's how we started off ........ but as the village filled up it was clear fibre would be better. Oh, and we couldn't put a high aerial up anywhere.

    Now that wireless has improved again by its next order of magnitude, it probably would work OK - we'll try it on the next one.
