Except that the fundamental bandwidth limit for wifi is measured in Gb/s, while the limit for fibre is better measured in Pb/s (not that we currently have the technology to actually fully utilize a fibre, mind you). And, if you run out of bandwidth on one fibre, you can just light up another one right beside it. Can't do that with wifi: once it's full, it's full.
