Got my first mobile less than 6 months ago and boy did I have problems. It doesn't come with an instruction booklet so thank heavens I had my brother in law to teach me a few things. Only got it because of family emergency. Have kept my land line but that will go shortly. I do know a couple of wrinklies who still don't have a mobile. Can phone and text and was taught to send a photo only yesterday. Never taken a selfie in my life.
Don't do face book or any such thing. Would much prefer privacy.
I actually think I'm very brave even posting on HC.
Kids today seem to have a far more difficult time in so many ways. Even more pressure than when I was growing up.
I see old film footage of capital cities and think how much easier and less crowded it was.
Technology is just great when it works but boy can it be frustrating.
Got a new TV and DVD when Dick Smith closed and had to call in Harvey Norman tech to home for help.
When the nice young guy arrived I told how dumb I felt. Oh he said I do a lot of work in your area and most of my clients are doctors and lawyers.
I'd wired every thing perfectly. But I read that booklet and any wonder I couldn't work it out.
He had typed up just one page and demonstrated. Easy peasy. His grammar and writing skills were not the best and I added just one or two words for self reminder.
Just that one page saved me probably spending more $ because I was paying by the hour or part thereof. Paid by visa and gave him a tip to take his girlfriend for coffee or whatever.
I used to think there was once the haves and have nots, now it seems we have the tech savy and people like me who struggle big time and always have our hand in the pocket for help.
