The same brokers screaming buy are the same ones selling. That's why they're saying buy.

I learnt a long time ago after watching Goldman Sachs offload all their gold positions whilst telling everyone to buy as its going to a few thousand an ounce never to believe any brokers.

They're just salesman spruiking their own book for the benefit of their bottom line whilst sucking up to corporates for the big commissions. 

A broker from Macquarie told me many years ago you don't have to be smart to be a broker, just takes time to build up your book.Once you do, its big money for you. Corporares being the big whales. 

Retail is bottom of the barrel for them.  That's just the way the system is structured.  Anytime they downgrade a stock, it's generally time to buy also.

The caveat is that you make sure the balance sheet is solid and nothing rotten underlies the actual business.

Santos is a different company since the dead wood of Knox and Coates have moved on.

Onwards and upwards we go with the usual price fluctuations in the interim.
