Thanks for that. I've taken a look at ASB because it was given a "Buy" rating recently, but I'd like better odds than what I can see in it. That's not to say that it won't do well, it's just that I'm not convinced that the odds of success are favourable enough compared to other opportunities. Mind you, maybe I don't have all the facts about the LCS issue - maybe the brokers who said "Buy" know something favourable to ASB that they're not prepared to mention.

I think that success with military contracts may be important to ASB if GFC2 hits, because its civilian customers tended to fade a bit during GFC1. Probably that's because taking ferry rides is a somewhat discretionary activity.
