So Simon muat have given his notice to pursue other interests in the morning and the board made a decision on his replacement by the afternoon AND told Simon not to worry about his notice period/handover and just help himself out.....
Or....nearmap held onto Simon's notice to leave whilst they transitioned in Rob and just didn't tell the market, in breach of ASX listing rules.
Or.... nearmap let Simon go and walked him on the spot.
As you say. We'll never know the truth but being fired seems to be the most probable.
