Wasn't going to reply, but you first have to admit you are a closet green......(Not that is anything wrong with that).
No ideal of the scale of what you are proposing.
Stop saying I'm saying BIG battery will replace baseload.
However...enough will. How much is enough? Use S Aust as a base (2 minutes base load for a parlty $150m).
Just to have a level playing field, (assume you cut off all the coal supplied power )..Base load 24 hours (just for SA). scale up by 2 min *30 *24 = 720 times bigger...but would have to be bigger as you no longer have the luxury of coal power dragging you out of the cold. Lest say 1,000 times bigger. You now have a battery to cover 24 hours for SA at a $150,000,000,000 (150 billion) that is good for 10 years. & 1,000 times the size of the Adelaide oval.. How do you keep this charged? Up the number of solar. The battery was never designed to cover BASE loan & I don't know why you keep harping on that just make it bigger fixes the problem.
The NET cost of roof top solar and solar farm and wind farms.

(More people have died from solar power that in all the history of Nuclear operating)
The HOME solar room top tariff isn't needed if you have a home battery...actually it's a waste...I'd rather the GOV (not that I want a GOV hand out) get a 5k credit for a home battery with a 5Kw solar roof.
1kw roof solar is now under $1,000...cheap and easy payback under 5 years...The tariffs were nice but, NOT needed any more.
Solar with molten salt work all over the world...Depends where you put them. Wet season in Qld makes them next to useless, what takes up the slack?

FARM LAND!!...If you want me to take you serious you can't make up stuff like that...Solar get less efficient as the heat rises, along with the tyranny of distance> You lose so much of your produced power that you have to up the scale of the plant to ensure you deliver
Australia has 4M sq arces...80% of that is dessert...Using just 2-3% would cover Australia's solar/wind needs...using 5%+ would make Aust a exporter...that that's what they are planning to do! Typical green point being made, without any thought about context or practicality of what you are saying..................... So what are you saying?

So you want to store Nuke waste in your backyard...SURE...what your address?...
Plutonium is the most dangerous material in the world.

Not an issue. Happy to do it for a fee. however all the NIMBY's (Not in My Back Yard) would stop me from doing that - ill informed knee jerk reaction.
Whats the issue when it is in storage?
You get more radio activity from a bunch of bananas that that which emits from a N Power station
Please don't reply back until you've read the FACTs and watched Tony''s video.
Why bother - there are thousands of these -

You are drinking the cool aid & not questioning how & why & who are in the mix.
I'm not saying that renewables don't have a place, but right here & now they do not give us the cheap alternative.
SA is a glowing example of having the HIGHEST cost of electricity in the modern world..
But they are not the solution based on todays technology. They are part of the mix.
Thanks for your time. It's clear you are converted, enjoy your future.
I've got to start building my storage facility Now thats a money spinner.
As you said earlier - ...I'm happy to burn down all the forests in the world for $10 million in my bank account."
Well now that you have set that standard - storing all the worlds nuclear waste will have less impact & make you much much more money.
