    Hi okra

Yeah like you I have seen all these for countless years. Now they are combined and electronically controlled without driver input right down to active radar applying brakes and load sensors confirming weights . Tyres and ratings have advanced but you can't predict what damage accumulates on then to cause failure and super singles worry me somewhat with unbalanced loads but I am still stunned at just what they can cope with.

Running full pressure and temp sensors on all wheels can tell when deflation and increased heat is happening and also hub temperatures with heat soaking into wheels and tyres on long downhills and twisties where driver make up time as on the flat they are speed limited and easy bait.

Common sense applies to everything but now they are adding the electronic brain with legal weights getting right up there at top speed is a lot of momentum to retard. I am a fan of simple systems running in oil as they can be easily monitored and have such long service times if well constructed but the integration gets harder and harder the longer ABV takes to get into the market except for high margin very corrosive or abrasive environments. They need to lock something in with a big boy soon and in the meantime flood mines with their better system showing the economic benefit and that means knocking on doors every day. A sale today guaranteed 5-10 years of income on parts . All vehicles with locally made bodies must be targeted as it is the cheapest time to install and package it like for busses etc .

Only ever driven light on ice in the UK and blue mountains and the sensible thing is to stop but then I am not on a hourly rate and a deadline etc. That mass at speed on freeway in bad conditions it amazes me that there aren't more accidents as when it goes slightly wrong you area passenger. bad enough here with soft edges but not a lot of traffic when you get it wrong.
