The garbage trucks trial went very well, after the 6 months the company did tell ABV they were pleased with the results. There were a few changes mainly to do with strengthening some of the components for the extra usage.
I have contacted the company twice with some suggestions and received one back, one of which was to contact the manufacturers and suggest to them that at the chassis stage have the axle's fitted with SIBS brakes thereby eliminating the cost of replacing drum/disc brakes, Mr. Sumner did say that he had considered that but said he didn't believe a large manufacturer would (now this is my word) entertain (now his words) a boutique brake manufacturer.
What I didn't say that perhaps I should have and that is that only a small number could be fitted so that say Isuzu then become salespeople for the product. What he did say was that 10 more sales reps had been appointed .
Linfox throughout the country would in my estimation be somewhere around 10.000 even waiting for a bus three to four Linfox semis would go past.
Years ago when my short spell with BP in Melbourne was just at an end the foreman told me that he knew Lindsay Fox very well and was always looking for good drivers.
