On balance I feel you are correct , given the CAPEX needed for draw shoots its also too small a resource for block caving , maybe room and pillar would work , there was a mine in Greenland that did that successfully about 30 years ago , but really I am just musing as I have no knowledge of bulk tonnage underground mining .
