Atkinson, according to today's AFR, is quoted as saying (when asked did he do anything to inform WEC shareholders about the Obeids involvement in Cascade) "Oh, I did nothing"
He said that he did not think he ever had "cause to tell the public" but he would not have wanted people to know of Obeids apparent involvement - "I always had the WEC shareholders at heart".
To which counsel assisting ICAC asked "so you owed the duty to yourself as a seller but not to the mums and dads of WEC"
"In the context of that transaction, yes" Mr Atkinson said.
