Love your enthusiasm bellcurve, However, BHP were probably aiming at a gravity anomaly and possibly coupled with a magnetic anomaly overprint or adjacent to it as targets to drill into. It would also not surprise me if there was a structural imprint coupled with these deep seated anomalies. That is if it was a look alike of the Olympic Dam original targeted model.SGQ are yet to identify deep seated targets using downhole EM geophysical surveys. It does not mean that the orebodies are not there, it is that they could be masked by the shallower anomalism which so far has corresponded with an excess of 90% success of sulphide intersections in the Mt. Alexander Cathedrals Belt and kept SGQ occupied with proving these shallow bodies. SGQ is dealing with infinitely smaller targets to the Iron Oxide Copper Gold (IOCG) style of mineralisation found in South Australia.
As an aside, this latest BHP find has the earmarks of possibly being the grand daddy of them all in grade, and hopefully in size. Great find for Australia, South Australia in particular. Go Aussie!! Very exciting times ahead of us in many fronts.
Cheers,
Helmenesh.
