The syndicate of lenders to power company Alinta Energy (AEJ.AX: Quote) is believed to be negotiating deals on the groups A$2.7 billion of debt, indicating that the banking syndicate has given up on recovering all of their money. Lenders including Suncorp and the Commonwealth Bank of Australia (CBA.AX: Quote) are thought to have sold Alinta debt in deals worth between A65 cents in the dollar and A80 cents in the dollar
It is nothing new. we all knew late last year.
Most lenders agree to sell at a discount. More cheaper /attractive for the takeover company to buy. It is a good news. It is cheaper to have 1.8 bils of loan then 2.7 bils of loan after take over.
