Lee Rowley MP’s 10 Minute Rule Bill on #fracking and seismic activity passed its first reading today, unhindered.

Second reading Friday.

This is a bill to prevent the fracking industry lobbying to shift the seismic limits for their own benefits. It would see the current seismic traffic light system set in law, so it can not be changed without full parliamentary scrutiny.

Lee is a Conservative MP and an ERG member and his bill is supported by 9 Conservative MPs including Sir Graham Brady, Zac Goldsmith , William Wragg, Damien Moore, Simon Clarke, Eddie Hughes, Ben Bradley, Maria Caulfield, Andrew Lewer, and by Labour MP Kevin Barron. The bill passed its first reading and will have its second reading on Friday 22nd March.
