Given the potential royalty stream and benefits to the local power grid, not to mention jobs, it would be a courageous State Labor Government (if they get elected) to try to outlaw the project.
Governments need income to deliver promises.
Basically they will promise the Greens and then find a way to not carry out the promise. Probably commission a long winded study to show they are doing something.
Anyway that's 3 years away. That's an eternity in politics.
