I was asked why I have aquaculture as part of my portfolio, Over the next 40 years, the world's population is expected to increase by 50 per cent to a little more then 9 billion people. At the same time available agricultural land is expected to remain static, rising incomes will also supercharge agriculture as they have historically increased demand for protein, more red meat, chicken, fish and dairy will demand a doubling of global food production.

By 2020 chinese beef consumption will increase by 43 per cent, chicken by 36 per cent, and pork by 23 per cent, while the country's dairy will double, and that's just China. Fish is apart of everyone's diet and aquaculture is the fastest growing industry.

Aquaculture production will have to expand at least two fold to meet world demand for fisheries products by the year 2025. and that's why I have CAQ in my portfolio.
