    While the coal price is at a low level that doesn't have that big an impact on the cost to generate electricity. Maintenance is a bigger cost (mostly due to manpower costs) and is only going to go up as the power stations age. Noone is building new ones because of uncertainty in the regulatory system and thus payback potential (not to mention the complete ball ache getting a new power station approved would be).

    So before you cry "crooks" look a little deeper into the issue
