We all know and probably agree there is no relation to the taxes we pay and the purpose with which they are used. Remember the old 3x3 fuel levy - can't say it was really used for roads. State Payroll Tax the same - goes into consolidated. Stamp Duty - oh boy what a crock that is... Maybe if we got rid of a layer of Government we can pay down the debt and then remove some of these taxes too?

Technically the GST may be a federal tax but it is, in reality, a state tax.
