You are correct @nursery and the GST is also a Federal tax. Maybe splitting hairs but they all disappeared at the same time so they are related whether directly or by association. We all know and probably agree there is no relation to the taxes we pay and the purpose with which they are used. Remember the old 3x3 fuel levy - can't say it was really used for roads. State Payroll Tax the same - goes into consolidated. Stamp Duty - oh boy what a crock that is... Maybe if we got rid of a layer of Government we can pay down the debt and then remove some of these taxes too?
