why should a small percentage have most of the wealth and many of the masses go without?

imo:

everyone should pay at least 10% tax over and above gst.

some companies don't pay much tax or gst.

charge them turnover tax.

also imo:

stash stuff in an offshore company or offshore trust, even if they are australian investments.

no tfn required.

some pollies and business people do it.

most accountants and most tax departments don't really want to know if you are using an offshore broker.
