Yep. The seeds of the Law of Unintended Consequences. I had a chuckle at that guy on profiled on 7:30 last night. Talk about sailing close to the wind with the numbers he cited... and carrying consumer debt on depreciating lifestyle assets (boat and caravan). He sounds like he might end up on the pension anyway. On the numbers he threw out, one solid market correction or recession that trims his dividends could have him drawing down his capital anyway. It made for a good story, though. He looked like a quintessential Labor battler come good. ALP leadership would have been wincing at the imagery and narrative that went with it. Whoever said that Auntie ABC was a blind lefty? (lol)
Of course this is all contingent on:
1) The Barbarians getting the keys; and
2) The Barbarians actually passing the amendments.
(Damn! And I promised myself not to become partisan about it.)
