Unfortunately, these cash strapped governments will do whatever they need to ensure they can continue feeding from the public trough. Moving the goal posts on SMSF is probably only the beginning.
They seem to like the idea of the owners of SMSF are extremely wealthy next they will be calling us hoarders or greedy speculators. I thought I was saving for a comfortable retirement without bothering our government for any social welfare. That 15% up front contribution tax sucked us all in at the time one wonders if this was all part of a grand plan!
I’m starting to think like you regarding how I place my vote in the future the problem is of all the various choices there doesn’t appear to be anyone looking out for the responsible SMSF savers.
