Speak to most Public Servants and they will tell you they are on a higher Superannuation "contribution" than the private sector...so who pays for their lurks and perks? Private Enterprise that's who, the dads and mums busting their gut week in and week out trying to make ends meet,..paying their staff before they pay themselves.
I was at a social on the weekend and I had the occasion to have a chat with a teacher couple. Apparently the super and pension schemes have changed, but this pair are retiring at 57 each with a ~$1million super and a $50,000/annum annuity on top of that. Of course they had a rental property portfoli0 they managed to finagle by manipulating salary sacrifice.
