For those unfamiliar with the term, it applies to someone with an obvious severe health problem who appears unaware and/or indifferent. SLR has a wasting disease, but management appears to be suffering from La Belle Indifference.
Cool Hand takes understatement to a whole new level. His AGM presentation that was posted via the ASX, was his unvarnished Diggers & Dealers presentation .... more might have been said at the AGM but how are the vast majority of shareholders who didn't attend the AGM to know ? Does he care what ordinary punters think ? Does he think the SP is irrelevant .... seems so! Perhaps some smart insto's are accumulating ... how would we know with no updating of the shareholder top 20 unlikely till next AGM ? This information is available to some shareholders not all as should be.
Today, the gold price is A$1700, which means even SLR should be profitable, and the likes of DCN SAR GOR OGC etc have firm SP's ... SLR meanwhile plummets to almost half Les Davis exit price .... smart move Les ... and meanwhile NED's get a pay rise .... another smart move dare I say. Lucky for NED's and the MD, remuneration is not linked to the SP. Let's not dwell on the past, but surely shareholders have a right to expect the highly paid board to defend the shareholder value aka the share price ?
