Hi Folks
NL and Wilma both make compelling points. I would love to be privy to the state of negotiations re finance etc, but do I have a 'right' to know that information whilst it is still commercial-in-confidence? I don't think so. Nor do I as a KNL negotiator want to be seen to be publicly disclosing snagging-points re legislation etc with the other side that might be interpreted by them as a formal criticism of 'face'-saving Tanzanian government officials. As retailers, we only get to find out when the deal is done - or not done - don't we? I am at a loss to define what information I 'deserve' from KNL as a shareholder beyond the mandatory disclosure principles in the Corporations Act.
I agree that we are information starved at present, but methinks that this is because the hard negotiating is being done right now and KNL management are loathe to leak anything until the ink is dry on the all-important contracts that get us moving forward. Frustrating? Yes. Necessary? Probably. Will it end positively? Yes, and soon I trust.
GLTAH.
