re: austin group - sars effect G’day Anne
Brian Beattie has just been made chairman of Austin. He has spent eight years with Woolworths and twenty with Target, including five as managing director and three years as managing director of Coles supermarkets. Although David Williams has done a great job, I think Brian Beattie’s appointment is terrific. To lure such a high profile director is a coup and an endorsement for a small cap company like Austin. David Williams said “his superior clothing industry skills will be of benefit the company and help take Austin to a new level”.
On the subject of turnarounds, I agree with your thoughts on recovering companies and their management becoming more responsible. I’m having a look at Globe and Brazin but they will need to be bargains before I buy.
All the best, Tim
