I see A&P pulling the pin on their client pre-hearing if nothing sensible eventuates beforehand as it would taint their reputation badly having a +$500m award against them on their record. Note they have a reputation of achieving settlements before hearings.
I also see the potential scenario playing out for a mysterious new policy to nationalise precise metal mining in Thailand for the 'good of the people' is a way to achieve a face saving outcome. They would then pay out all existing owners an agreed sum. By "all" I mean just us!
