These are the same souce rocks for the Taranaki basin where many many wells have been drilled.
I dont think Exon Mobil, OMV etc would be interested in Great South Basin if these source rocks were not thought to have good oil potential.

mgm-that well kowhai-1 was in 70's and miles from this site and only well ever drilled in this huge area. Try Hurunui district council re landfill geophysical studies.
