anyway a very interesting OP - and just think about it - but at the end of the day the combination of Russia and china in that part of the world (look at an atlas) could result in the total exclusion of America (ie usa).

mmm ok - forget Venezuela - but the Saudi's need hundreds of billions of $$$$$ of American/west European military equipment to defend themselves - even though they have a defence agreement with America - and American military bases on their land and America would do everything possible to protect the petrodollar .
