Kalbarri Town Talk

I found this on the Kalbarri Town Talk Facebook page.  The submissions closed on 11 Dec, probably expecting too much to hear anything this side of Christmas.  It seems a microgrid will be built commencing in 2018 opening in 2019.

"Western Power has committed to building a microgrid to improve the reliability of electricity supply in Kalbarri.

The Economic Regulation Authority (ERA) is currently reviewing our investment plans for the next five years, which includes the Kalbarri microgrid. If the ERA considers the Kalbarri microgrid is a prudent investment and is supported by the Kalbarri community, it will help us secure the revenue and funding we need to promptly deliver the project. You may wish to write a short submission to the ERA voicing your support for the Kalbarri microgrid.

Public submissions are due by Monday 11th December 2017.

Points the ERA may consider in its deliberations are:
• That poor reliability in Kalbarri has affected business and/or home life.
• That a reliable electricity supply is essential to the town, particularly during the peak tourism season.
• That the Kalbarri microgrid is a feasible and efficient solution to improve reliability of electricity supply.
• That Western Power be allowed to investigate microgrids, and other non-traditional ‘poles and wires’ network solutions, and should invest in them where prudent to do so.

Please make it clear if your submission is on behalf of an organisation.
