Bonehead, that's all true. But CCU have (had) an operations manager, one of whose functions is grade control. Mixing higher and lower grades to get a reasonably consistent feed to the plant. He should have had a pretty good idea what was going through, from chemical usage etc.
But he's not there anymore.
