Josh Pitt & Mark Bennett ( the same Mark Bennett that discovered the Nova deposit for Mark Creasy ) discovered the Thunderbox Gold deposit in 1999 on Dalrymple's ( a Pitt controlled company ) tenement. Pitt quickly sourced a second hand plant for a song and relocated it to process the ore. That turned into an absolute cash machine.

Lionore took out Dalrymple in 2003 for $147M in Lionore stock. That was a great result for Dalrymple shareholders.

Then after another 4 years Lionore who by this stage was only listed in Canada became the subject of a takeover by Xstrata. I think it started at $CAD18.50. Then Norilsk of Russia got involved and upped the bid to $CAD21.50. Xstrata came back at $CAD25.00. Then Norilsk increased again to $CAD27.50.

That was at the top of the Nickel market in 2007 at $U.S 51,500 a ton. That bid was equivalent to $AUD31.00 at the time

By the time i accepted the compulsory offer. My original shares from Dalrymple which i had acquired for an equivalent $0.36 had appreciated by 8500%. You don't get many of those Happy trader. Happy days !!!
