I am  happy to hold this stock over July election  because  of the work law proposal  to ban Sunday penalty  rate.

Star and Crown  pay a lot of taxes  to government  and they  operate 24/24 hrs So the proposal  should be a shot in the arm to reduce  its employees  wages.

It's  also another  reason of lower AUD which  will for sure attract   more tourists.

Australia  CPI is a little  bit  under  pressure  but consumers  confidence  is at all time high which will also boost attendance rates to give punters more time to bet bigger until  they run out of coins.

EVER wanted to live in a casino? The Star Entertainment Group hopes to pre-sell its first residential apartments on its Broadbeach island by the end of this year as part of a multi-billion-dollar master plan under which the development will be bigger than Brisbane’s giant Queen’s Wharf.

The island, which has its own state-level planning legislation, would eventually host seven towers if approved, with the application for the first – an $850 million, 200m hotel and residential building – already submitted.

Developments on Broadbeach Island do not require council approval and have already been welcomed by Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk, who announced the plan with Treasurer Curtis Pitt, Tourism Minister Kate Jones and Star CEO Matt Bekier on the Gold Coast yesterday.

“Stage one of the proposed redevelopment is undergoing formal approval process,” the Premier said.

“The Star Entertainment Group is working closely with my Government.”

Star Queensland managing director Geoff Hogg said the first of the new towers, if approved, would have 700 keys, with about 300 for hotel rooms and the rest for residential.

The hotel component will be a four-and-a-half-star offering, with a similar market in mind for the residential apartments.

Its construction could begin by next year and be completed by 2019.
