With Apache set to drill the Longtom appraisal of the gas discovery in the Emperor Formation there will be a lot of interest in this play. Apparently the play was originally drilled in the Judith-1 discovery located to the east of Longtom in 1989 by Shell - BHP then drilled Longtom in 1995, but neither operator thought the discoveries warranted testing. Apache are having another go at it and if they get a commercial flow it will be of imediate benefit to Longtom and Judith discoveries. NXS set to benefit but so do MOG and EBR who hold Judith in the permit to the east.
