why are we sure it'll be a cash award?
my recollection of equitable remedies is that an equitable interest in the underlying asset is also possible.
you don't trace to the cash, you trace to the asset purchased with the cash. likewise if a constructive trust is created it's not a constructive trust over cash at bank it's a constructive trust over the asset that was acquired.
so that would mean an interest in the tenement is a possibility.
