Indeed 'an age-old question for farmers'. But we are in a completely new paradigm. Never has Earth experienced such a vast human population. The whole situation is creaking at the joints. Just read Philippine govt looking to import rice, half of Africa no longer eats bread etc etc. List just gets longer, never shorter BECAUSE the world's pop just keeps growing and growing. Only variant is rate of growth. It's going to end badly but price of food is likely to jump before whole shebang implodes. It's impossible to forecast timing with high degree of certainty but i can't see how pressure on wheat will suddenly reverse unless almost every major producer has a big harvest in same year. Long odds of that right now i reckon.
