The other risk is the sudden re-emergence of a bull market which could happen anytime in a world with 7 billion people and a food production system that depends on the supply of key inputs being unimpeded. A massive bull market is just as dangerous as a bear market. Can leave your hedge book looking ugly and you better prey you don't have a poor production year on your hands because your hedges could easily become ugly bad bets. That happened in 2007 for a number of Aussie producers hit with drought and record Chicago wheat prices.
