Why is electricity sold at 11c/KWh in China? No idea. And is 11c/KWh cheap or just fair market price? You tell me.

I guess the better question to ask is why electricity is so expensive here? A topic thread on the Jaguar I-Pace is no place to discuss this. So better to leave this unanswered and merely do some navel gazing instead.

Back to the more interesting topic of electric cars... I see one can get a Tesla P100 with full autopilot for around $160K. This car has a 100KWh battery with a claimed 632 km range. And an 8 year guarantee. That autopilot is the ducks guts. How good would it be just sitting there stress free and just monitoring the traffic without having to concentrate on steering and navigating This is how long haul pilots can manage to do up to 12 hours at the helm.

Depreciating it to $0 over the warranty period means it costs $20K per year to buy and own one. Amortized like that, it’s not too bad hey? If V2H was enabled, it would be overwhelmingly compelling. Even I would buy one despite having an aversion to Elon Musk and  thus anything Tesla. Looks like I may have to review my prejudice soon.

The Audi E-Tron will be very interesting when it’s released. I read somewhere that they have 200+ of these cars out on the roads across the world doing testing and trying to build up a lot of kilometres in the “real world” before they finalize design decisions.

    Interesting days ahead.
