Hi PB..yeah the weekly cross only happens about once a year on most stocks while daily MACD crosses many times a year but it produces a lot of unreliable signals on its own because more often than not it wont be in sync with the weekly MACD but when they are both in sync which is very rare this is where the big moves happen...short term MACD crossovers should only be considered when there is weekly conformation imo..heres some random example of other charts below.
