I think you're missing his point to be honest. His personal financial situation is none of our business, so what he does with his money is up to him. He's taking a stand against a large group of wealthy executives who want to buy his shares for under half their true value. A shareholder with 1m shares in ADI joined by several others with over 1m holdings can cause a lot of problems for a the big boys trying to screw the every day investor. Call it a protest if you like. I think it's very commendable myself.
