Seems discovery was well below market expectations as I suspected, and even below T4P's base case so I am pretty sure they have been stringing us along as long as they could.
Asteroider, are you sure that the discovery is as low as Omni indicates? Surely if those figures are reasonable KEY or Aminex would have released them to the market.
As for T4P's thoughts, in his speculation about the size of the gas field he considered the possibility that KN could link up with other nearby leads such as the Songo Songo East lead.
Take a look at slide 18 from Aminex's presentation, that slide shows the lines of seismic to establish the northern extent of the Kiliwani North field. Not one line, not two, but three seismic lines traverse the KN field into the Songo Songo East lead.
The question remains as to just how much information Omni has given by the likes of Aminex. Have they been given market sensitive information or are they themselves speculating?
Even if Omni are right, or close to the money, it's still a good discovery that will provide good cashflow once commercialisation occurs. Plus the noise coming from Aminex strongly indicates that the remainder of the Nyuni block is better than they had previously expected.
