I have little concern. No company is immune to the backlash associated with profit misses. We know Microsoft are the third largest US company in terms of market value and this hasn't changed. The miss on EPS (earnings per share) was predominantly attributed to higher than expected taxation expenses according to analysts.

What I think is important for Thred is this comment:

"Microsoft is also nudging users to change how they buy software. Subscriptions to its Office 365 service are growing rapidly. And because Microsoft delivers regular updates over the Internet, analysts say that should help the company sell extra features, particularly to business users."
