On a lighter note, whilst quaffing a glass of wine, I can't help speculating: Why would Homo sapiens ( wise man) destroy himself and his world with greenhouse gas, a simple process he has understood (Fourier) for a couple of centuries?

Maybe its the Fermi Paradox at work:= No signs of alien civilisations found despite the fact billions of earth like planets surely exist, many of them far more advanced than us. Maybe the story of mankind and biological intelligence goes:

    *Planet forms
    *Life evolves
    * Life and Planet merge to create a stable self regulating system (The Gaia hypothesis) just long enough (an incubator) to allow the evolution of an intelligent species, maybe an ape without an evolutionary niche, meaning he has to live off his wits
    * Man emerges, and as a byproduct of insatiable greed, creates artificial both self learning and replicating intelligence, not bound by the confinements of a cranium, as a byproduct of his mindless pursuit of things. He became so addicted with material goods he doesn't realise he wreaked the 6th mass extinction and has cooked both himself and nearly all biological life in the process
    * Computers, free of man, start designing, making and evolving themselves at hyper velocity then merge with Gaia to make an intelligent planet where biological life has died back to cyanobacteria and its water is gasified in the troposphere, allowing it to be easily sucked into space to make and fuel spaceships from. The machine based probes using quantum computing brainpower communicate instantly using entangled light, needing no air, water or food, immune to intergalactic radiation, link up with other galactic intelligence to create a universal net. Thus planets become neurons connected to others that have hatched via a similar evolutionary path. This process, now an invisible galactic web, is so far advanced that it easily hides itself from the inconsequential biological creatures rudimentary technology, despite it having given birth to them, with the same contempt as we do sperm.

maybe I should write a book?
